VolunteerTogether

Start a Chapter

Bring Volunteer Together to your community. Chapter leaders help people find meaningful ways to serve, build relationships with trusted local organizations, and create a culture where showing up for one another becomes the norm.

What chapter leaders do

  • Learn about local needs and build respectful nonprofit relationships
  • Plan accessible, well-organized volunteer opportunities
  • Welcome and communicate with volunteers
  • Represent Volunteer Together’s mission and values
  • Follow event, safety, privacy, and brand guidelines
  • Share outcomes, feedback, and stories after each project

Who should apply

You do not need to be a professional organizer or have a huge following. Strong chapter leaders are dependable, collaborative, comfortable communicating with different groups, and ready to listen before acting. Applicants must meet any age, screening, training, and location requirements established during the chapter-review process.

How the process works

1. Introduce yourself

Tell us about your community, experience, interests, and why you want to lead.

2. Talk with our team

We will discuss local needs, expectations, support, and whether a chapter is the right next step.

3. Prepare to launch

Approved leaders complete onboarding, identify partners, and plan an initial opportunity.

What you can expect from us

Volunteer Together is developing a chapter toolkit with planning guidance, brand resources, event checklists, communications templates, and ongoing connection with the wider movement. Chapter approval is based on readiness, capacity, mission alignment, and the ability to meet program requirements.

A chapter inquiry is not an approval or authorization to use Volunteer Together’s name, logo, accounts, or nonprofit status. Written approval and completed onboarding are required before operating as a Volunteer Together chapter.
