VolunteerTogether

About

Volunteer Together makes it easier—and more joyful—for people to show up for their communities. We connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities, collaborate across causes, and turn individual acts of service into collective impact.

Stronger together from the start

Volunteer Together was founded by Lisa Leone in 2019 after the success of the Period Project, a community-powered campaign that delivered menstrual products and practical education to students in Vrindavan, India. The response revealed something simple and powerful: when more people participate, the impact grows.

That idea became Volunteer Together—a welcoming movement that leads service events, raises awareness around urgent social issues, and helps people find ways to contribute that fit their interests, abilities, and communities.

Our mission

To make volunteering accessible, social, and fulfilling by connecting people with organizations and opportunities where their time and talents can do real good.

Our vision

A culture where giving back is woven into everyday life—and every person can see themselves as part of positive change.

What we believe

  • Everyone has something to contribute. Time, skills, resources, encouragement, and connection all matter.
  • Service should feel human. Volunteering can be meaningful and still be fun, social, and energizing.
  • Communities know what they need. We listen to and collaborate with established organizations rather than assuming one solution fits all.
  • Many causes can share one movement. People care about different issues; Volunteer Together helps them find the place where they are ready to act.
  • More people create more impact. Small actions become powerful when we take them together.

We may not be able to change the world alone, but together we can change everything.
